Europe comes to Hong Kong
Europe comes to Hong Kong

The cultural evenings held at Li Po Chun UWC are always wonderful celebrations of national and cultural diversity. Last night’s European Cultural Evening exceeded everyone’s already very high expectations, and was a fitting tribute to the richness of Europe’s history, traditions, literature, dance, cuisine, humour, social issues and heterogeneity.
The evening began with a special dinner in the Canteen featuring food from the length and breadth of Europe. It was a colourful scene as students and teachers arrived dressed according to the dress code suggested by the organisers:
• Block 1: ENCHANTED FOREST (fairies, magicians, dragons...)
• Block 2: DARK CAVE (goblins, dwarfs, trolls, witches, wizards....)
• Block 3: CASTLE (queen, prince charming, court fool...)
• Block 4: MARKET (gypsies, street musicians, peasants...)
Dinner was followed by two hours of sensational performances in the Indoor Sports Centre to which all our Hong Kong parents and several other Heads of schools were invited. The superb quality of the performances meant that the two hours flew by very quickly indeed.
Words cannot adequately express the wonderful experience of the performances. Rather than attempting to describe them, let me share a gallery of 45 images of the dinner and the performances. Please click HERE and enjoy!
