In November 2007, I travelled with 16 students from Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong to Waka, a small town on the border of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in south-west China. The reason of the visit was to perform voluntary service work in an orphanage for Tibetan children (see its website HERE). The trip with the students also included a visit to Zhongdian (see details HERE), completing a 25 kilometre trek through Tiger Leaping Gorge (see details HERE) and visiting Lijiang (see details HERE). This gallery shows some scenes taken during our time in Waka. You can read the background to the trip by clicking HERE.
