There was nowhere in the Faroe Islands where we could completely escape the fog and overcast conditions today, so we headed north-east where it was theoretically a little brighter than elsewhere. The north-east is a relatively remote part of the remote Faroe Islands, and this became clear as several single-lane, unlit tunnels through mountain ranges had to be negotiated - not an exercise for the faint-hearted. Although the scenery was not quite as spectacular as we had seen over the previous few days, the small hamlets and villages had a lovely, relaxed charm, making the drive well worth the effort.
