We spent the entire day walking around Tórshavn under overcast conditions with intermittent rain. The weather didn’t bother us, though, as many of our activities were indoors, and walking gave us an opportunity to absorb the mood of the city very well. Actually, “city” is a misnomer; even though Tórshavn is the capital, its population is just 14,000 (of the national population of 55,000). Highlights of the walk were the National Museum, the associated outdoor zone of reconstructed old buildings, the National Gallery, and the nearby parklands.
