The grey overcast conditions have finally cleared, the skies are blue and the weather is really warming up. Much of the day was spent walking and exploring, with short drives between each of our stops. Our first stop involved a climb of several hours to the top of Old Man Storr, a spectacular set of cliffside rock formations at Storr on the eastern side of the Isle of Skye. A short drive further north brought us to Lealt Falls. The falls were unremarkable because of the dry conditions prevailing at the time, but the views down to the old ruins were impressive. Our final stop before completing our circuit of the island was the Skye Museum of Highland Life near Hunglader, a really enjoyable, informative and well laid out tribute to the history (and hard life) of the area’s early settlers.
